I'm so glad we spent a little extra money to purchase this seat w/the bar going across the lap. It gives our son something to hold onto while we are bike riding, which I'm sure makes him feel more secure. the quality of this seat is very nice, and I feel my son is very well-protected in it. My husand installed it quickly with little effort. We have owned this now for about 4 months and have greatly enjoyed taking our one year old for leisurely rides in our neighborhood. It was a good investment for us because I'm sure we'll be using it for many more years! I would highly recommend this child carrier!

This seat is great my 21 month old son LOVES going for rides! It was a little difficult to install since the instructions are all pictures and they try to list about 3-4 steps in each picture. I wasn't able to install one of the bolts to hold the clamp tight (due to where it had to be positioned) but it's still very secure with three installed. It's quick release feature is very nice for storing the bike and or going for rides on my own. The only reason I gave this 4 starts is the weight of the system empty. Be cautious with any type of seat like this too! This was my first experience and it suprised me a little on how that much weight in the back can make things different during a ride and manuevering.

It looks like a great seat though it didnt fit my bike.
My bike has a welded piece of metal on the seat post to hold the brake wire.
This was the only location on a short post to attach the seat.
It was impossible to attach.
